Flavie Webster and Clayton Cerre met on a train from Paris to Köln in the late 90s. At the time, they were both working as models with brands including Olivier Theyskens, Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake and Tsumori Chisato. As a couple they decided to create their own clothing. The couple remarked, “Some things we wanted but could not find anywhere.” Cerre was born.
On their move west Clay explains, “The concept was to take our experiences with the established European brands, their dedication to beauty, elegance and craft, and transport it to Los Angeles, a place where everything was still a bit like the wild-west. We are still very excited to see where this combination will take us.”
At the back of their store (which opened this past winter solstice at 8920 Melrose Avenue) the designs are born and realized, often for a specific customer. Most recently the couple created signature looks for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Rooney’s jacket, backpack, jewelry and most of Robin Wright’s clothing are all Cerre.

Rad! FYI I believe the names are Flavie & Clayton Webster, and Cerre is the brand name.
