Aloha Rag was founded by Tatsugo Yoda in 1991 as a small boutique on Oahu, Hawaii
which stocked highly curated vintage and designer items.

In 2007 Aloha Rag tripled its floor space becoming the Honolulu flagship store that
has become famous for offering merchandise from brands such as Lanvin, Yves Saint
Laurent, Dries Van Noten, Alexander Wang and Golden Goose. Balenciaga built a
concept shop within the shop.

In 2008 Yoda seized the opportunity to open a store in New York, on the ground level of
a luxury residential building on Greenwich Street. Alongside brands like Rick Owens,
Raf Simons, Alaia and Comme Des Garcons Aloha Rag features its own brand, designed
by Yoda and based on American basics and military garments.
