Where are you right now?
On a shoot for Russian Interview at Jean Paul Gaultier headquarters.

What is your current state of mind?
Trying to fit all the iconic pieces of clothing from different collections on several models within several different sets and make it work! My mind is on work 100% right now.

Where do you feel most at home?
In my apartment with my husband and daughter.

What’s the best advice you¹ve ever been given?
Keep the faith.

What is your greatest fear?
Without going too deep into psychoanalysis…. I am afraid of spiders!

Which living person do you most admire?
It’s hard to give only one name, there are so many…. Carine Roitfeld is definitely one of them.

What is your greatest extravagance?
It would be a purchase of an Araki picture.

What was the last thing you bought?
An absolutely amazing Balenciaga jacket.

What is your most treasured possession?
My daughter!

What as the last film you watched?
The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo

If your life could be a film, which would it be?
Et Dieu créa la femme with Brigitte Bardot

What makes you laugh?
My daughter, every day!

What makes you cry?
When there is too much work at the same time and I can’t clone myself to do it all…. Or when there is not enough work!

What’s on your iPod?
Mainly 80′s songs, those were good times for music  :)

Eh? In my head or where am I situated? Gonna go for situated.. I am in the VB offices writing descriptions for the website…

What is your current state of mind?
Here we go… ummm very happy.

Where do you feel most at home?
Anywhere that my family is. I have 7 nieces and nephews.

What’s the best advice you¹ve ever been given?
Treat people how you want to be treated.

What is your greatest fear?
Trapped in a room with lots of Snakes. Eeeuuurgghhh

Which living person do you most admire?
My dad, he is the best role model in the world.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Food! I’ve become a real foodie this winter, buying organic products from Broadway Market and going to lots of sweet little restaurants! I’m desperate to learn how to cook.. I can only cook the basics like roast chicken and spaghetti Bolognese!

What was the last thing you bought?
A packet of ciggies..!

What is your most treasured possession?
A crucifix that I wear round my neck that my granny gave me.

What as the last film you watched?
The last Days of Disco with Chloe Sevigny for our event to launch her collection at The Village Bicycle.

What makes you laugh?
Really silly things like people tripping up.

What makes you cry?
Being heartbroken….

Where are you right now?
Sitting in my garden in Brooklyn despite it being a freezing January day. Luckily the sun is shining

What is your current state of mind?
Relaxed, switched off

Where do you feel most at home?
Back in the English countryside, at the house I grew up in.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“Let people live their life how they want to and live yours how you want to”

What is your greatest fear?
Losing the people I love the most.

Which living person do you most admire?
Someone very close to me. Indigo. He’s the most peaceful and caring person I know.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Clothing/Shoes. Sad but true

What was the last thing you bought?

A pair of Resort SS11 Prada shoes I’ve been searching for forever. I don’t think they were ever sold in the US

What is your most treasured possession?
Love and life.

What as the last film you watched?
Bottle Rocket.

If your life could be a film, which would it be?
Steve Zissou, the Life Aquatic

What makes you laugh?
Pretty much anything when I’m with friends.

What makes you cry?
I cry really easily. Lots of things make me cry

“Where do you see yourself in 10 years” – I’d prefer to just see where life takes me.

Where are you right now?

What is your current state of mind?

Been travelling none stop for four days and feel a little lost in space and time

Where do you feel most at home?

At my house in London, however, I am moving to another place at the end of the month and that period of moving always makes me feel anxious. There is that weird moment of transit.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Follow your own judgments.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
Sometimes I wish I wasn’t so ambitious and could be a little more patient….

What is your greatest fear?
Failure

Which living person do you most admire?
Anybody who is successful with whatever they want to achieve by following their heart without compromise.

What is your greatest extravagance?
My children. I will always try and find time and energy to be with them and love them, worth whatever the cost. It’s invaluable to be able to experience them growing up and see them learn new things.

What was the last thing you bought?
A beautiful work of art by Iris van Dongen

What is your most treasured possession?
Nothing in particular, but most probably my suitcase because I can’t do without it.

If your life could be a film, which would it be?
The Great Gatsby

What makes you laugh?
People that take themselves too serious

What makes you cry?
Violence, manipulation and abuse of children and the vulnerable I find terrible upsetting

To much to mention but right now I am listening to The Remains, Chocolate Watchband and The Music Machine.

Where are you right now?
At work in my studio in Manhattan.

What is your current state of mind?
I’m usually at peace when I’m working, though at times it gets a little hectic around here. We just won runner-up for the CFDA fashion fund, which is a really exciting honor, so I’d say I’m motivated, busy, and pretty satisfied at the moment.

Where do you feel most at home?
In my apartment in Brooklyn. But I’ve always felt weirdly at home in the southwest- I love the desert.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Have confidence in yourself and what you love even if others don’t.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I would like to be slightly less obsessive….

What is your greatest fear?
Dolls/inanimate objects coming to life. Abandonment?

Which person do you most admire- alive or deceased?
I’m always in awe of great painters and artists. Georgia O’Keefe has always been an inspiring personality to me- how she draws attention to the delicate by using bold stokes to create a sometimes shocking effect. Her work forces you to notice the intricacies of the subject.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Travel. I’m fortunate enough to have an excuse to travel to exotic places to do research for my collections, and it’s always worth whatever the cost. It’s invaluable to be able to experience new cultures and enhance my collections with a fresh perspective.

What was the last thing you bought?
Probably shoes… or inspiration books to prepare for the next season’s collection.

What is your most treasured possession?
I love how jewelry makes you feel special. I lost one of the earrings but continued to wear the single earring every day. I’m also really attached to my sterling talon cuff. I have always felt that it represents a lot about who I am – bold, a little dark, but still feminine and dainty.

If your life could be a film, which would it be?
Something Western, I hope. I love The Holy Mountain by Alejandro Jodorowsky.

What makes you laugh?
Almost everything.

What makes you cry?
Not much- though dishonesty and cruelty are both things I have trouble coping with.

What’s on your iPod?
Wild Yaks, Neil Young. Royal Trux.

What sites do you visit everyday?
Into the Gloss, Who What Wear, Nowness. And of course I visit Vogue.com every day. I love Garance Dore and The ManRepeller. I also try to check out what’s going on in the art world and on music blogs…

Which question do you most dread being asked?
When are you going to have a baby? But my mom is the only one who asks me that.
